Our work is based on the holistic approach of the Medicine Wheel. We work with the unity of the mind, body, emotions and spirit to facilitate a deeper connection with family, community and/or the workplace. Each person is encouraged to explore and achieve his or her individual aspirations.

TRAINING SESSIONS & WORKSHOPS

Stepping Stones Workshops offers a format of specialized training sessions, workshops and other services for frontline workers and the general population.

These include:

  • Care for Caregivers - Taking care of yourself…so you can provide the best support for those you assist.  Frontline workers in Aboriginal communities and agencies often pour their hearts and souls into caring for other community and family members, 24-7. In dealing with so many difficult problems, personal levels of stress and grief can pile up. This workshop focuses on developing new self-care skills, so that these valuable staff members can increase the quality of their personal lives, leading to benefits for the workplace as well as clients within the community.

  • Staff Retreats or Professional Development Days - A combination of R&R, body treatments, plus valuable and informative experiences, offers a wonderful stress break for your team.

  • Dealing with Chronic Illness and Stress - The impact of so many serious issues in the Aboriginal Community has often led to lifestyles where high levels of chronic illness and stress are a fact of life for many people. Strategies for developing important skills in self-care are taught in ways that are both easy and enjoyable to learn, yet valuable for empowering changes in every-day life.

MODULAR SESSIONS

We can build a package of workshops that best meets your specific requests.

This includes:

  • Building Foundations:  Walking in a Balanced Way - A full one-day session, introducing general guidelines for balanced living. This popular session is both informative and experiential.

  • Re-Discovering Self - This is a one-day workshop using the Medicine Wheel for sparking curiosity, creativity and inspiration about self-care.

  • The Stepping Stone Approach - A full day for learning the 4 steps of healing. There is a focus on individual goals and concrete steps for attainment.

  • Topical Issues - A half or full day to explore relevant issues for your community, such as communication skills, setting boundaries, or dealing with emotional issues, such as grief or anger.

PERSONALIZED OPTIONS

As part of the Stepping Stones Approach, The following 1-1 services can be incorporated to further the gains made in the workshops:

  • Individual Body Treatments - Reiki, Craniosacral treatment and Thai Massage offer each individual a wonderful chance to relax and assimilate his or her experiences.

  • Self-Care Coaching - Each participant can have a private session to develop a personal self-care plan to be integrated into the demands of their every-day life.

  • Bach Flower Counselling - This herbal approach can assist in daily emotional challenges.

  • Follow-up Program - This innovative system reinforces personal gains made, in a cost effective manner.
